Shop The Little Modern Farm’s Fresh and Pasture-Raised Products

Want to shop the little modern farm? We have locally raised protein and veggie options available for purchase seasonally and year round.
We pasture-raise all of our pork, chicken, and eggs.
Our laying hens roam freely eating insects, plants, and seeds around our property. They’re supplemented with non-gmo, corn free, and soy free grain for the highest quality eggs. Not only do they provide us with the richest and most flavorful eggs, they also live happy lives.

Broilers are also raised on pasture using a hybrid rotational foraging method. They are raised in chickens tractors that are moved to fresh ground daily. This method decreases their exposure to their own waste while also giving them fresh forage.
While their home is moved daily, they also roam freely around it during the day. This allows them to have access to plenty of sunshine and fresh forage. You won’t find a broiler that healthy at your local grocery store.

Idaho Pasture Pigs
Why Our Pork is Different
Our pigs are a special breed called Idaho Pasture Pigs (IPP). Unlike most pigs, IPPs are natural grazers and love living on pasture. They thrive on grass and sunshine and don’t need to be confined in barns or feedlots.
Our pigs are born and raised here on our farm. They live their whole lives outside on pasture, rooting around, grazing, and just being pigs.
This way of raising pigs creates pork that’s richer in flavor and much higher quality than what you’d find in the grocery store. The meat is darker, more flavorful, and has just the right amount of marbling (fat in the meat) for tenderness and taste.

Half & Whole Hog Options – Best Value!
If you’re looking for the most cost-efficient way to stock your freezer, we recommend buying a half or whole hog.
Here’s how it works:
- You pay for the hog by hanging weight (the weight after it’s been butchered and cleaned, before it’s cut and packaged).
- You also pay the processing fee charged by the butcher.
On average, you’ll take home about 60%–75% of the hanging weight in packaged meat.
Example:
🐖 A whole hog with a hanging weight of 165 pounds will give you around 110–120 pounds of pork.
🐖 A half hog will give you around 45–65 pounds of meat.
You’ll also fill out a cut sheet, which lets you choose how you want your pork processed—like how thick you want your chops, if you want roasts or ground pork, etc. Please note: some cuts, like bacon, may have a small extra charge.
Pricing & Deposits
✅ Whole or half hogs: $4.50 per pound hanging weight
✅ Processing fee: about $1 per pound plus a $75 slaughter fee.
We require a $200 deposit when you place your order.
- This deposit will be deducted from your final total.
- If, for any reason, we can’t fill your order (like a mortality or an “act of God”), your deposit will be fully refunded.
- The rest of your balance is due once the butcher provides the final hanging weight.
